Russia says it has stopped spread of Arctic fuel spill

Images released by Russia's Ministry of Emergency Situations show one of the ministry's camps set up on the banks of the Ambarnaya River following an accident in Norilsk, in the Russian Arctic. Russia has managed to contain a massive diesel spill into a river in the Arctic, a spokeswoman for the emergencies ministry told AFP on Friday. Environmentalists saying the oil spill, which took place on May 29, was the worst such accident ever in the Arctic region. IMAGES
