Traffic resumes on the Champs-Elysees in Paris after the fifth round of the "yellow vest" protests, which saw a sharp decline in mobilisation. There were isolated incidents of tear gas and water cannons being used, but a fraction of the amount on the weekends of December 8 or December 1 when graffiti was daubed on the Arc de Triomphe. Le samedi 16 mars 2019, les Gilets jaunes se sont réunis à Paris pour l'acte 18 de leur mobilisation. Des affrontements entre les Gilets jaunes et la police ont très vite éclaté sur les Champs-Élysée et la Place de l'Étoile. Les casseurs et autres black blocs ont affronté avec violence les forces de l'ordre.
